FAQ's

Some frequently asked questions about learning to drive;

When can I learn to drive a car?

A. You can apply for you driving licence three months before your 17th Birthday but you have to wait until your birthday before you can venture onto the road.  Recipients of the Disability Living Allowance at the higher rate may be able to drive from 16.

When I pass my car test can I ride a bike?

No!  You have to gain a CBT and pass a separate test although some of the skills are the same.

Can I tow a trailer when I pass?

No and yes!  This gets complicated.  Basically a small trailer then maybe but a large trailer then no.  See the section of trailer training for more information.
